IPOB is a Terrorist Organization, FG refutes US.

Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, The Special Adviser to the President on Prosecution maintained the United States’ statement that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is not a terrorist group is inconsequential. After the Federal High Court, Abuja had declared the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist group, the United States however, has said it does not see IPOB as a terrorist organization. In a statement released late on Sunday, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla insisted that IPOB’s activities certified it as a terrorist group as defined by the provisions of the Terrorism (Prevention) Act 2013. Obono-Obla said that IPOB through its advocacy and mode of operation, terrorized and or harassed or “those who do not subscribe it to its separatists ideology and ethnic bigotry before its proscription”. Another terrorist organisation has been identified in Nigeria after the trending IPOB terrorist saga by the Federal Government. ASUU- The Academic Staff Union of Universities has branded the University of Ilorin a terrorist organisation after the institution reportedly sacked the ASUU chairman in the school, Dr. Kayode Afolayan, for allegedly exposing corrupt practices of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali. In a letter signed on behalf of the union by the chairman of the University of Ibadan chapter of ASUU, Dr. Ayodeji Omole, and the Zonal Coordinator, ASUU Ibadan Zone, Dr. Ade Adejumo, the lecturers said that Unilorin under Ambali devised all means to suppress legitimate industrial activities in order to avoid exposure of his misdeeds. Chimobi, a ten-year-old had been taken into custody by The Lagos State government after his brother’s wife, Gift Igwe, allegedly set him ablaze at their home on Adenugba Street, Agunfoye, Ikorodu. PUNCH reported that the offence of the Ishielu, Ebonyi State indigene, was that he misplaced his trousers and could not produce them when Gift demanded them from him. Residents of the community, who heard the cry of the victim, put out the fire, during which he reportedly passed out. Chimobi was subsequently rushed to the Ikorodu General Hospital, Ikorodu. Policemen from the Igbogbo division were said to have arrested the suspect. Officials of the Office of the Public Defender, who had been monitoring the treatment of Chimobi, took him into custody. A source divulged that the child was brought to Lagos in 2016 by the brother to start living with his family.
