‘Policeman framed me for robbery for denying him sex for bail’ – Nigerian lady tells Lagos court

A 27-year-old trader, Mrs. Victoria Amodu, yesterday told an Ikeja High Court, Lagos that an Investigative Police Officer (IPO) at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ikeja Division, demanded sex from her to release her from custody. Amodu, a mother of four, gave the testimony as a defence witness in her trial for alleged conspiracy and armed robbery, before Justice Kudirat Jose. The defendant, who denied the allegation, was arraigned alongside one Hammed Isiaka on a six-count charge of conspiracy to commit robbery and armed robbery, contrary to Section 295(2)(a) of the Criminal Law No 11 Laws of Lagos State, 2011. Hindu priests anointed a 3-year-old lass to be worshiped as a ‘living goddess’

According to a report published on PUNCH newspaper, a three-year-old girl was anointed the new Kumari of Kathmandu by Hindu priests on Thursday in a ritual that will see her worshipped as a “living goddess” until she reaches puberty. Wearing a red dress, Trishna Shakya was taken from her home to an ancient palace in the Nepalese capital’s historic Durbar Square where her initiation began with a short ceremony. Afterwards she was carried by her father across the cobbled square — which still bears the scars of a powerful earthquake that hit in 2015 — to the Kumari’s palace where she will live under the care of specially-appointed guardians. Don’t blame wives over PSquare’s rift, SAN tells public

As the rift between Peter and Paul of PSquare gains momentum, the group’s lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Festus Keyamo, has said the wives of the artistes have no hand in it. He expressed the optimism that the disagreement among them – including the elder brother, Jude – would be resolved. A statement from the Keyamo Chambers as published on PUNCH Newspaper noted that, in contrast to the public belief, the quarrel was not the fault of any of the parties – including their wives. According to the report gathered by PUNCH, The Peoples Democratic Party has told Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State not to waste his resources on his presidential ambition, saying the party’s candidate for the 2019 election will come from the North. The party said all its members were aware of the zoning formula it adopted for both its presidential ticket and the position of the national chairman. Fayose had sent letters to some leaders of the party to inform them about his decision to run for the Presidency on the platform of the PDP. Husband flees as wife welcomes triplets

The embattled lawmaker gave his reason in a chat with journalists on Monday, September 25, in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
