Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, The Special Adviser to the President on Prosecution maintained the United States’ statement that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is not a terrorist group is inconsequential. After the Federal High Court, Abuja had declared the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist group, the United States however, has said it does not see IPOB as a terrorist organization. In a statement released late on Sunday, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla insisted that IPOB’s activities certified it as a terrorist group as defined by the provisions of the Terrorism (Prevention) Act 2013. Obono-Obla said that IPOB through its advocacy and mode of operation, terrorized and or harassed or “those who do not subscribe it to its separatists ideology and ethnic bigotry before its proscription”.
